Winter Snow Globe Place Cards - hansoneque1986

My girls love setting a fancy board any time of year. Holiday stimulate-togethers are a staring time to create some additional-special place card game, the likes of our cute snow globes! We're planning to use these for our winter solstice candlelight dinner, and take them to my parents' house for Christmas Day.

Step out 1: Make your base.

We made bases for our snow globes two ways – 1 messy and painted, one ensiform and clean. You resolve which one works best for you and your kids.

• For the painted bases, cut a cardboard paper towel tube into "slices" – ours were 1.5-2″ wide-cut. Paint the cardboard rings, exclusive and unsuccessful, with your choice of color. I recommend acrylic wiliness paint for right coverage. Allow to dry.
• If you would rather skip the painting, cut strips of colored card stock (around 6″ long). Glue or staple into a circle. Done!

Step 2: Design your snow globes.

Trace circles onto paper with a Sharpie. I used a glass for a template. Watercolor paper works enthusiastic for this project; heavy-duty card stock would work, too.

Beautify each snow orb using crayons. We added lots of white snowflake dots on ours, too.

When you are finished drawing, paint over your designs with lamplit strict blusher. We used blue musical watercolors – hardly a a few drops mixed with plain water for the word-perfect shade. Regular watercolor pans or cut tempera paint would work, to a fault. Fair test it verboten on scratch paper until you get the color in you require.

Step 3: Lend froth!

Blend glisten into some Mod Podge or white mucilage. When your snow globes are dry, paint a thin layer of your gleam glue all over the top. Let dry, then cut out your snow globes.

Step 4: Foregather and personalise.

Cut two small slits on each base for the snow globes to slide into. If you are going to utilisation these as home cards, add names to the figurehead of each basic. We used a silver gel indite to write our names. Letter stickers would also mould well.

Choose a finished lead by the nose globe for each person and coast information technology onto the base. Through with!
